What is an achromatic lens?

An achromatic lens or Achromat is a lens that is produced for the purpose of restricting the effects of lens(chromatic and spherical) aberration. Achromatic lenses are adjusted to bring two wavelengths to concentrate in the exact same plane.

What's a chromatic aberration?

Chromatic aberration, too Called chromatic distortion and spherochromatism, is a result caused from dispersion due to the failure of a lens to focus all colours to the same convergence point.
