What is an achromatic lens?

An achromatic lens or Achromat is a lens that is created for the purpose of restricting the effects of lens(chromatic and spherical) aberration. Achromatic lenses have been adjusted to attract two wavelengths to focus in precisely the same plane.

What is a chromatic aberration?
